Donor Sperm

Intrauterine insemination (IUI) using donor sperm is the preferred choice of assisted reproductive technology (ART) for single women, lesbian couples, and couples or individuals experiencing reduced male fertility.

Each cycle takes 4 weeks and the team will:

1. Ensure you understand all aspects of this treatment option.
2. Map out a transparent treatment plan.
3. Offer support while you choose a suitable known or anonymous sperm donor. 
4. Work with licensed and accredited sperm banks in Denmark.
5. Offer assistance in the completion of all contractual paperwork.
6. Ensure sperm is prepared for IUI in a clinical laboratory environment.
7. Administer the IUI procedure in which donor sperm is placed into the uterine cavity for fertilisation.

Additional costs may include:

• First consultation with the gynaecologist.
• Viral screening (required by the EU Tissue and Cells Directive).
• Trans-vaginal ultrasound for follicle tracking and timed intercourse.
• Early pregnancy ultrasound scan.
